Albums of my life: 1992
Hey, kids, rock'n'roll.
In this blog entry I will discuss my most important albums of 1992. Tick-tock, tick-tock.
As alwas, let's start with...
Honourable mentions
- Alics in Chains - Dirt - I tried so many times to get into AiC and especially this album and I always failed. I had to turn 41 to finally dig Dirt.
4. Iron Maiden - Fear of the Dark

If I'm being honest, this album is only here because of the title track, which was part of a very short Maiden playlist that made me get into this band.
The rest of the album is solid Maiden. Everything they do is solid. You can listen to any Maiden album at any time and you'll enjoy it.
3. Tom Waits - Bone Machine

Bone Machine is the soundtrack to a fictional western movie I'd like to watch. There are some of my favourite Tom Waits songs on it, like Earth Died Screaming, I Don't Wanna Grow Up and Black Wings. Thanks to last.fm, I know that I listened to this album for the first time on February 9, 2008. Do you remember what you did that day?
2. Leonard Cohen - The Future

Similar to Bone Machine, The Future features some of my very favourite songs of the artist who happens to be Leonard Cohen. Like the title track, or Closing Time, or Democracy, or Anthem.
There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in.
1. R.E.M. - Automatic for the People

Growing up in the 90s, it was impossible to not listen to R.E.M. They got so much airtime that honestly I was annoyed by R.E.M. because they were played all the time.
But that changed somewhere around the mid 2000s when I re-discovered albums like Automatic for the People. And Automatic for the People is a monster of an album, a giant. The cherry on top is the song that just keeps on generating misheard lyrics.
